I really enjoyed the idea behind this game and, for about 40% of the time, i really enjoy the game itself. I make sure i vote daily for the benefit of publicity and, if it was not for the fundamental problem i find in playing it, i would gladly spend my hard earned money on it for the various benefits associated with Bulfleet General. Sadly, i believe the battle system to be utterly flawed and it has caused me to consider quitting the game completely.
For a start, the 48hr immunity period does not work properly, unless i am mistaken and (despite extensive searching) have missed reading something. If there are fleets headed to your planet when immunity is initiated the battle still occurs and casualties are calculated/resources are stolen. This is an infuriating topping to a rather infuriating cake.
Now, the main body of this utterly unbalanced cake is the battle ranking system. It's great isn't it? I can't bully weak players because, unless the account has been logged-out for a long enough period and considered idle, i can't attack a player beneath a certain percentage of my rank. Fair enough. So, why can they attack me?. This is a critical failure in Bulfleet. A useless player with no skill at all has been relentlessly chipping away at my empire for about 1 month now and about 5 days ago he finally got through on a technicality. He repeatedly showed a total disregard for the battle system ie weapon types vs. shield types and so as you can probably imagine, for a while, this pestering was quite entertaining. Until he got through by seemingly blind stupidity and ripped a hole in my massively superior aerospace. That really got my blood flowing, the senseless moron had completely by accident configured a fleet strong enough to get through. What did i do? Well, i attempted to recon him of course. I fully intended to smash him to funny little rocks. Especially since i'd put up with around 30-40 spy missions from him daily for about a month...can you even imagine how annoying that is? I even tried reporting him because i'm sure it violates a game rule. Anyways...guess what happened when i tried to recon him? I was told i was too powerful to attack him. Yes. Despite him for a month sending wave after wave of pointless chaff at me to be obliterated by my defences, i was unable to retaliate. W.T.F?
So, i soldiered on because i like the game so much. Despite only playing the game for about 2 months and having 1 month of that playtime totally ruined by this idiot, i'm ranked 480ish. I'm quite proud of that really after 2 months playing.
Then guess what happened to force me to sign up to this forum? Another player attacked me, within my retaliation range this time. Nice. A proper battle for me to finish the round with before i start a new on a level with everyone. No. The player attacking me was under protection. WHAT? Yes. The player who's fleet was happily on it's way to finish what little defences i had left and cripple my power infrastructure beyond belief was.....protected.
What the hell is going on with this game?
I don't mind telling you..i'm a total and utter gamer and i've been fabulously successful at many games of this type. All i can say is this, "if you know who this was you had better make sure you change your name for the next round because i am going to spend the whole of next round sitting on the pair of you".
Further from that, on a more official point, is this supposed to happen or is the game simply flawed beyond all feasible logic?
