I will assume this subject has been discussed, but I have not found that discussion. If so, would someone direct me to this topic area.
The main reason I am bringing it up is, as a new player to Bulfleet, I found it cumbersome trying to find the information needed to begin the game, rules, nuances of ships, etc. I began by making Word documents of many of the rules, factories, ships, etc. I made a few documents (ex.- Recycler, with picture and specs.). I also made a document (for 'astropolate') from official explanations and also derived from forum discussions and answers.
As a past book publisher (Guerrilla Ink Press, LLC., USA), I thought an official manual would come in handy (especially for beginners). If enough requests were made for such a manual I would be willing to take on such a project.
My first thought was for the normal laminated (front and back covers), with a nicely designed and formated book interior. This would require working with the Bulfleet holding company as well as working closely with the users. 'The Manual' would be designed to be easily reviseable.
My second thought was for a website with a downloadable (ebook, pdf) file.
I have not worked up cost projections because I don't know what kind of interest exists. Let me know!
I am in the USA and the first language edition would be in English, then on to the other languages.
GIP was envolved in many book projects and as a publisher, I have experience in design and production.
This would be a good project for the users, as well as Bulfleet, allowing new members to have an easily accessible document for finding information. What are the 'Pros' and 'Cons' of such a project? What price would users be willing or able to pay? Paper manual (greater cost) or ebook (least cost)?
I will keep my eyes open for forum discussion.
