how do I work out how many points researching Star Fighter is going to take, im thinking about getting my mining + tech to build star fighters to 100points then build loads of ships to go pirate around the galaxy.
is there some maths i can use to work out how much materials are used for each level of research

for every 1000 spended resources (even gas) u got 1 point. 100 000 resources are 100 pts. Open the FAQ then see the prices of the SF's researches and do your math.

thank you, so basically the amount of materials doubles with each level
57 points just to be able to build them

Can I attack players that are " (i) " or those that are in my range with names in white while i am below 100 points

u can, but if u are 50 points u can't attack player between 20 - 99 points. They have to be 100-125.
thoose which is (i)'s u can attack with no matter about pts

Planing my first attack with 60 points and 2 cargos, will they return with materials if I attack a (i) with 0 points ?

Nobody knows, ask someone to espionage your inactive
your ships won't be crushed, but it is possible to get low than 1000 metal/crystal.
