Since abuse of vacation mode is not punishable in game, the only option is to simply name people who do it.

Retro-fen abuses vacation mode every day. He is on vacation mode 90% of the time except for about 2-3 hours a day when he is playing by raiding people with field fighters. After that he goes back into vacation mode.

The result is that he is *guarantee* to be able to attack people without any chance of retaliation.

This is a clear abuse of vacation mode and is cheating, and Seymour alliance allows its members to cheat, and is therefore just as guilty of abusing the game as its members.

Vacation mode is there to allow people to go on vacation without being destroyed. That is its purpose.

Does someone go on vacation EVERY DAY? Except for 3 hours in the early morning? No, of course not.

It is abusing a facility in the game for an unintended purpose. It is using a feature to make yourself invulnerable to attack while you attack others. It is cheating. It shows no respect for other players, for the game, or for the community by disregarding the purpose of the rules.

I tried to write to this player to explain that he was abusing the system. he refused to stop and just sent silly emails back instead of even discussing like a mature adult.

The game designers tell me that this kind of abuse is not dealt with because they did not think about it before implementing it in the game and that too many people abuse it to deal with it. Changes are coming eventually to fix it. So it seems the only thing we can do, is

1. Name and shame those responsible for abusing the rules.

2.. STOP buying any Nanocredits. If the makers of a game are unwilling or too lazy to police their game and prevent abuse they do not deserve to be paid until they start doing their job.

Buy nanos and make the same as him. It's equal for everyone. When the next round start, it wouldn't be allowed. 10 vacations per month - and then - no vacations allowed.

I have nanos, but I will not cheat just because someone else cheats. 10 vacations a month is still too many and will continue to allow cheating. I do not believe anyone needs this many vacations to have REAL vacations.

I believe 4-5 a month is enough, for those people not able to play at weekends so they can go vacation at weekends if they need.

Play in uni SPEED then -> allowed only 5 vacation modes per month and you wouldn't have that problem In all other universes 10 modes per month are allowed and thats the rules If you don't like them don't play in that universes

No, I dont agree. Because it is called VACATION MODE. That means if it is used for something that is NOT a vacation it is cheating. This is clear yes? If it is abused, then it is cheating. I do not need to play in universe speed, the referees just need to punish cheats and adapt the game to prevent cheating.

If they want people to be able to do this and not call it cheating then it needs to be renamed from Vacation Mode to something else - maybe 'immunity mode' or something.

Then for sure I will play in another universe (or not at all) because this abuse of vacation mode is only useful for one type of strategy in the game, so if it is allowed to be abused, then everyone may as well forget about having a production strategy - which does not work with vacation mode abuse - and just build 12,000 field fighters and raid 3 hours a day then go to vacation mode, which works very well with this kind of cheating.

1. Are you on vacation? (weekends count if you cannot play)

Answer: No (if you are not on vacation)

2. Should you use vacation mode if not on vacation?

Answer: No

3. If you use vacation mode when not on vacation are you cheating?

Answer: Yes.


That is why it is called VACATION mode.


Easy to understand. So dont abuse it.

If that were the case it would not be called vacation mode. It is vacation mode for vacations only. To use it when not on vacation IS cheating.

If it were a deliberate power it is too powerful. If you wish to play only with field fighters, then it makes sure you will never be attacked for the entire game. This is stupid. So obviously it is an accident, and a design problem with the game. The designers thought that because you cannot produce, people would not be able to abuse it. They were wrong, because anyone who relies on piracy to gain resources is not affected by not being able to produce. So they use the system to cheat.

The bottom line is, it is still obvious. Its called vacation mode and is for vacations ONLY.

Cheating is cheating, and it is an insult to every player in the game who respects the rules. The people who do it should not be allowed to play the game. I will not buy a single nanocredit more until it is fixed and until the cheats are punished.

You are wrong. If it were a strategy it would be called invulnerability mode. Or it would be called Hide mode. It would not be called vacation mode which means you ARE on vacation.

It IS an abuse. Why else are they changing it? It is an abuse and using it is deliberately cheating. yes macumba cheated.

A legal ability would have weaknesses.

I do not want to try to 'play with it' I will use it if I go on vacation, The answer to cheating is not to cheat also or you lose all honor, just like the people who do it have no honor or respect and no place in community games, where respect for rules is important.

Maybe it is cultural, and the idea of cheating if you can is acceptable where he comes from. Where I come from it is not acceptable, you respect fellow players and you respect rules otherwise you are no better than a thief or a liar.

This is a funny idea. You want the ones who dont cheat to leave and the cheats to stay? What a fun game this would be with only cheats. No, it is the cheats who need to leave and to stay away from online games until they learn respect.
