Hey all,

I just started playing Bulfleet recently (SPEED Universe) and immediately fell in love with it. Been playing a lot at work since :P However, as a long a time RTS fan, I am a big fan of turtling. That is, building my economy to immense levels then buckling down with defenses and ensuring that no one would dare attacking me. This however was coupled by a big mistake of mine, this round I colonized the 4 nearest planets in my solar system. I suppose this made me a prime target for another player, because he colonized a planet in my system and is proceeding to make daily raids into my main base. (Which up until me using an immunity to build defenses, this has been extremely costly to me.)

Is defending really a viable option? I raced technologically to Plasma systems and have been making plasma cannons and megashields to defend my main planet (the same planet which I pool resources to).

Also, I hear about this fleet save thing, would it not be more efficient to make a colony several systems away then have your fleet transport their cargo to this planet at 10% movespeed? So even if you can't get on in time to cancel your fleet's travel, you can still hold on to your resources.

What happens if you attack a green named player?

I guess my biggest problem is not being able to be on in time to fleet save when an attack comes through. This also is affecting my decision to turtle, because at least 60% of my defenses make it back if I'm not on to make sure my fleet books it to another planet.

I guess just some simple questions, any help would be appreciated!

Hi,

With my experience, I find that the turtling is the most bad strategy for playing. There are two good ways to play defensive, but sooner or later you'll be crashed, not so fast, but will... First is playing a terteth race, and making only Light lasers and small shields at proportion of 10:1 - for 10 lasers you should build 1 shield. And some cargo ships, to fleetsave your resource.
Fleetsave is strogly recommended to be make that way - full of your cargo's with all your resources, and attack an inactive player, your fleet must arrived at the time you will be back online on PC.

The other way, playing terteth/miop and build laser:shield - 10:1 - and Field Fighters or Star Fighters for miops. Cuz there are a Pirate mission and the others can steal your resources through the defense with Field/Star fighters.

But I recommend you to play with fleet, and do the fleetsave as the way I said some rows ago.
Do not colonise your planets at your Solar system. Colonize it at the other galaxies, or 100+ solar systems one of other.
To have more range of attacking and recycling.

You can't attack a green named player - it's out of your att range, so the game won't allow you.

Don't transport your cargo's to your colonies for fleetsave, just attack them, if there aren't any ships/turrets.
