maybe its a bit a stupid question, but i can't find it out my self,
so my question, is it possible to investigate a location before sending your colony ship,
i did see that numbers of places to build on are different and probably random,
is it possible to scout, spy a location before sending your colony ship so you
know how much buildings you can build on that planet?

Unfortunately no, you cant. The planet's fields are randomly set on colonizing the planet.

Thank you for your awnser,
i have a other question, in the testgame i play on the speed server i can search for players in range,
i don't find that option back in the game on the other world where i am playing.
Do you need to pay to have that option usable?

That option is only for Bulfleet Generals. If you are not one, you can't use it.

I mean, you would never send a ship to colonize a planet without knowing what you will find on it, would you ?

Well,
Lots of pioneers have traveled to new lands without knowing anything (or worse, believing Rumours).

In the game, Your Colony ship probably has a scout shuttle on board that checks for Air, Gravity, Food, Water, Temperature, and Germs.
But, it would take the Population of an entire planet to discover How much resources are actually on a Planet.
Any reasonable scans from space will show general amount of land, but not precise amounts.
Some land may turn out to be useless, and only actually going in an mining will tell you how much metal and such can be had.
Scans could show a great density of metal, but it might be too deep to get, or too impure to use.

So, I don't think it's unrealistic to have random fields.

I think the spy reports we get are silly, though...
Unless they get blown up, Spys allways see all the resources stored inside buildings on the planet.
But They sometimes have to make 3 or four trips to see the 200 Battlecruisers out in space around the planet? :dizzy:
Seems Silly. :c022:
