I know that if a fleet is attacking or transporting from a planet that gets destroyed by a death star that fleet disappears. But what happens if you send a fleet to station on a planet and the end planet gets destroyed? does the fleet turn around and go home? Or does it get lost also?

If you don't stop the fleet using the "Take back" - button - all ships will 'disappear'... yep, also.

The fleet will be lost in the moment of landing, because you are in no controll of that planet. If there is a new owner of that planet there will be no battle and nothing will remain for recycling. No points will be lost for that fleet.

So you mean when a fleet is lost in space then you don't lose those points off of your total points?

Also if there is not a new planet there, your ships are basically destroyed so is there a debris field then. Same goes for a fleet returning to a planet that was destroyed does a debris field develop there?

Yes, no point will be lost for lost fleet. Points are subtracted only in battle.

Your fleet is not destroyed. It is lost. You have no contact with it. So there is nothing to recycle. No debris. Sorry. That's how the story is...
