I am at the moment still building up my mines and energy supplies (startet 2 days ago) and reached now level M8-C8-G5-S10. But still I do not really have much income to invest in the very expensive researches to go for a colony ship. How far shall I go to increase level of my mines bevore starting with research and how do I get the gas problem under control? For a Colony Ship I need 16.600 GAS. With a lvl7 Gasmine it would be the production of 118 hours or 5 days !!!

The advice i can give you mate is to buy some cargo ships. not megas as there slow and take long time to make. Only build a couple at a time as well. Then when you are ready i would look at inactive players and spy them. you will find easy resource there till you are strong enough to attack players. you should be able to grow quickly when you do this. this will give you resource for research. Thats how i done it.

The question is how far you can reach with the level of the mines before you start getting robbed. Do not listen to marsh, he is new around - in order to fleetsave effectively you need Jet Systems lvl6 for megacargoes. And if you really think to make something in this game you need recyclers. For them you need Shields lvl2 (Research center lvl7) and Jet lvl6. marsh, 3 cargoes cost as 1 mega cargo, but have only 60% of its load capacity. Megacargoes are for fleetsaving, cargoes are for fast raids as accompanying fleet for Guardians and Battleships.

yep that seems funny do not listen to me. i seem to be doing ok on 105k points and have plenty saved. what points you have.
While he is raiding with cargos he can quickly make up other ships. the faster he can gather resource then the faster he can research other fleet ships. you can play either as a miner or as an attacker. its up to you.
The way to play is up to you. But if someone starts to relise you have high mines then they will just continue to farm you till you go out of range and then they usually pass your co-ords to someone who can do it all again. They might even move a colony next to
This might be my second round but im 4th in war points, in top 10 alliance and there is only a couple of us and like i said before over 100k points

The problem is - to be able to build big cargos it takes me some ages and noone will rob me since my ressources are constant below 1000.
The idea of marsh is quite interesting because I could be able to build normal cargo ships in one day. So I build 2 cargo ships and just send them to an inactive player with 0 points. He should have enough ressources to take away just from the basic income, or?
the thing with spy probes or any other thing is - I am lacking of gas to develop

Inactives with more then 1 point can make intresting farms and you should find gas at these to support to you can get your mines high enough

just made my first attack on a inactive with 0 points. Two Freighters have been in my fleet.
Stolen: 1527 metal, 795 crystals, 0 gas.
Does it mean that I stole all that he had or can i go a 2nd run?
On the battle report it does not show more than 1 round. But I told to fight for a total of 12 rounds. Do I need to fight long or would fight for 1 round be enough to get all ressources?
Also - where on my interface do i find the game time. It told me
Arrive at 2007-09-18 13:36:45
but this cannot be my time.

It depends what you are fighting against. If you attack a planet without fleet or turrets the battle takes only a single round. You cannot set less than 6 rounds however. Further you fly longer it takes. At the beginning of your empire it takes ages if you send your fleet very far away.
