Can't Defend Myself

You cannot defend yourself AND have high mining income. If you want to play defender, you need minimal mines and researches, so you could spend your resources at lots of turrets at lowest possible points to trick the attack ratio. If you intend to mine heavily, than you need a lot of free time to watch for enemy attacks and save your resources in your cargoholds of the fleet. High mines and some turrets make you a perfect prey.

Also You can try to attack your own planets each other in specified intervals of time - 1,2,3 hours....So the resource will be in your cargo hulls and will be safe for little more time And your enemies probably will not attack you if you have less resources

Example for the attacks :
Send an attacking fleet from your first planet to the second one with flight time 2 hours. And reverse - from the second planet to the first and so on.

I think You know that for that type for attacks you must not have defenses or ships on the planets.....you don't want to fight yourself, right?

And dont advertise how much your mines make in the forum or you might find you have a few more visitors to your colonys as people look in the forums for new targets. And like you said you have high mines and defence, well your making yourself a target
