ship/shield defense/da,ages

Is there somewhere that tells you how much damage a certain defense does? or how much a shield protects?

IE lets say i have 2 megashield and 12 shields, 15 gauss cannons, 50 wg rockets, 60 light lasers. is there a number damage the shields can protect against/ how much damage can the defenses do in a round?

I found the damage each ship does/can take (Game Rules/Ships characteristics)... but nothing at all for the defenses
