Well, as I can see the problem, You are looking at the (Upgrade) Factory ( the price for 1st level upgrade is 3000/2000), and You can't upgrade it. That may be caused by the fact that you haven't build the researches for the FieldFighter ( You can see the requirements for each ship in the Technics menu ).
Ships are built from the Shipyard, not from the Factory.
Am I guessing right?
