wrong spy report

Hello all.

I attacked some guy today, the last time he got online was 13:21:01...
i scanned him at 15:39:33 and it said he got 2 laer beacon...

Information about ships and turrets:

Laser beacon: 2

Chance of failure 5%

So i launched an attack on him with 5 field fighters....
and now in the battle report he have 28 laser beacons!
he still have not come online, his last login still 13:21:01...
So GM wtf is happening. can i have at least my ships back?. 3 cargoships, 5 field fighters
i dont want to play an unfair game....

26 laser beacons are build for 156 mins = 2 hours + 36 mins. When you scanned him at 15:39:33 they were not ready yet.

Can it also happen that spy reports are not reliable when attacker and defender have close espionage levels?

By the way, Magus, just my opinion, man, but for such a small amount of resources, I wouldn't even bother attacking someone. Might as well go after inactives. But I'm sorry for your losses.

That isn't true. You can be with 2 espionage level and spy someone with 12 level espionage and still get a truthfull spy report with the fleet.
