Hey man, I'm not defending anything, I'm just trying to explain how the things work and why they work this way.

By the way the FLEET SAVE is something that u should do if you don't want to get hurt ! These are the game rules, doing FS we don't 'sidestep' them. The FS is the 100% working method to save your ships and part of your resources. If you don't like it, Ok its your problem, find other way to save ur stuff according to the game rules, options and tactics you can think of.

By the way there is another way of avoiding the Piracy. Just build enough FF's and station them on your planet.

Here we have few types of users: these that knows everything and are competent in lots of topics (like me ), these that want to know smth about the game, and finally the these that don't know much about the game, but are competent on everything (like you).
This is an INTERNET FORUM dude! Everybody posts what ever he wants !

Appreciate you taking the time to post. I really wasn't attacking your posts as much as it may have seemed. It's more of a general condemnation of many of the responses I have had on my posts or seen about pevious and current game concerns that people have posted.

On an aside, I've decided to stop playing, at least for now if not forever. Simply because the way the piracy mission and the way higher point players play make it not that much fun. You seem to have to spend an inordinate amount of time playing so as to make sure that you can respond to any attack, or plan for when you might next play so the Fleetsave gets back in time. All in all I found I have way too many demands on my time to be involved to the degree needed.

I saw 1 player that has been on for 19 hours a day for the last week. I guess they have nothing else going on, so I hope they enjoy the game alot, but I really need a game that can handle it if I am not able to play for 12-24 hours at a time. Because the defenses don't work on Piracy attacks, and because bigger players seem to need to seek out weaker players (I even had people from 2 galaxies away probing me! lol, go figure) I simply can't take the time needed to keep activily playing hide and seek with my resources.

It's still a good game, I just wish they had a version that allowed you to rely on your defenses, and protected you from obviously incredible mis-matches.
Many of the things I found in the game seemed innovative and original. Hopefully they will try to improve things that make sense, even if people may not agree with what items need improvement.

I was surprized but glad to see your acknowledgement of some of the innovative aspects of this game, Rob, and felt that you still had some good points to share. Hopefully in the near future, some of the seemingly inbalanced areas in the game can be less challenging to newer players. Hence, I was wondering, since you plan to quit, can you also provide your planet's coordinates, User Name, and Universe so that those of us who actually read these Q&As can be among the first to benefit from your inactive status? Thanks.

That said I wish all luck.
The game was good but like everything people can and do ruin it...I love the players that have no mines of thier own and do Fleetsaves all the time after raping other players.
I wasn't really taken advantage of, but could never really get revenge for their attacks since they never had anything to take ecept while playing and were constantly send the fleets offf world.
It's nice of the rules to protect your worlds from takeover, but there really isn't any way to attack a player that does the fleet save and never has any mines.
Note that this player seems to play for the full 20 hours and never seems to have a life outside the game to live.
At any rate it's not bitter grapes and all that, I just plan to look around and see what other games out there might better fits my playing style and wants.
Even another good game, Astro Empires, makes it hard since they too don't allow you to truely take over a colony of another player. They make it so you conquer it, but only get 30% of the money the world generates. No total control to build or such, so the original player never loses the colony. Hence people that take over planets in your home system can never truely be taken over. It would have been nice if they had limited the non-takeover to just your homeworld...but all games have flaws.
