Inactive player planet deleted when fleetsaving at it

I just haven't ever come across this before and wanted to ask if this could be the reason my fleetsave returned 3 hours earlier then it should have (luckily no one spied my fleet in this 3 hours).....I sent my fleetsave at an inactive players planet for 5 hours each way flight time for 10 hour total, but when I logged-in next morning my fleet was already arrived home even though it should only just be getting back. I checked message times for return and it was 3 hours ago and noticed I had no battle report either, so I checked player co-ordinates and saw no planet there anymore, his inactive account was deleted during my fleetsave....so when this happens does your fleetsave immediately turn around and come back...or does it still continue to the co-ordianates still?
