So what I'm saying here is why provide an option to paying players that can only be used by players who live in a certain location?

It is the one feature of this game that every round I play becomes a total disadvantage to any player in North America even when they are supporters of the game like European players are through buying nanocredits and becoming Bulfleet Generals. I have played 4 rounds now myself and have always supported the game like many others do, by paying to be a Bulfleet General but yet because of my location I am not able to take advantage of, what I see as the most advantageous of the options provided by being a General, having sms alerts myself. I have to ACTUALLY play the game activly to notice and avoid attacks sent at myself by being online and PLAYING to do so. These players using sms are basically impossible to suprise attack for me, you launch an attack and they're online moments later....to me this takes away from the strategies and tactics and skill needed to play this game, it is a real-time online game....so to me this means players should have to be active and put in the time to play the game, not sit back wherever they are and get an alert when they're being attacked and quickly come online for a moment and send away they're fleet, and then log back out and continue NOT playing. Just my opinion as a supporter of what I feel is a GREAT, FUN, game in all other aspects, but I am at a disadvantage over the same players who support the game like I do, just because I am not located in Europe!
So what I'm saying here is why provide an option to paying players that can only be used by players who live in a certain location?

Dark... the sms alert is a strategy to make you reserch your spy lvl.... if u have spy lvl equal or bigger then the Deffender will not recive eny sms alert.... if u want place your email adres in the sms-alert and you will recive A`n email when you are attacked but if your spy lvl is smoles that the attacker u will not recive eny.
Fly safe.
Kind regards.

I think you missed the message I was trying to get accross, I already know exactly what the sms alert systems is and how it works, BUT the problem is the option is not available to me here in North America (or any other players in bulfleet from here too) because of the system and technology differences in cell phone technologies between Europe and North America....the outgoing sms alert sent out to the user who is being attacked that comes out of the actual Bulfleet game does not work over here, it's been this way since I started Bulfleet over 2 years ago.Bula2k написа:QUOTE (Bula2k @ Dec 29 2008, 02:21) Dark... the sms alert is a strategy to make you reserch your spy lvl.... if u have spy lvl equal or bigger then the Deffender will not recive eny sms alert.... if u want place your email adres in the sms-alert and you will recive A`n email when you are attacked but if your spy lvl is smoles that the attacker u will not recive eny.

I just can't really see why an option is given out for paying players (that does give a sizeable advantage in the game) but that can only be used by European players and not available for players over on another continent like I am......I've played many, many, many different online games over the years and this is the first "paying player bonus advantage granted" to the players who support a game that is only useable by only some of the supporting players and NOT ALL of these same players.....it would be like a International (Canadian based) online MMORPG game saying "just an example here:"
we will allow every player that purchaes an account for 2 months in advance, will get a bonus 3rd month for free, except it only works for Canadian currency so anyone not paying in canadian currency can't take advantage of this offer.......Sounds pretty ridiculous doesn't it??? especially when this particular game offering this deal has players in it from every country of the world.....But there is basically no difference then what sms does now in bulfleet, grants the "best" one of the given bonus options for becoming Bulfleet General only to SOME paying players, and not ALL paying players
I have personally tried to set-up the sms to my e-mail, and tried many different adresses as well.....and these alerts do not arrive to me, or to my cell phone. I was told when I first asked about this to a few players many months ago that this option isn't available in North America.......
From the sms alerts menu:
* You can activate mail2sms service from the website of your gsm operator.
we have no option to do this, the GSM in North America works on different technology that does not work this way and all providers I've personally used myself here tell me the GSM used here and in Europe are not compatible in this way.....so even if I got an alert sent to my e-mail adress I'd have to sit there with my browser online constantly conected to the net through my cell phone with my e-mail account signed-in staring at the screen and refreshing it all the time to look for an alert........so come on...would you actually do this?
So I'd love to see them just get rid of this sms alerts option altogether.....then you players who live and die by your sms alerts not to get attacked and crashed in the game would actually have to BE ACTIVE and PLAY THE GAME in order to catch players coming to attack you.
now if I could actually recieve the alerts to any of my e-mail accounts, I could then at least set it up to forward any new mail to my cell phone.....but I have tried sooooo many times to get it set-up but I can't even get the original e-mail or alert that Bulfleet sends out when I'm attacked by someone with same or lower espionage...so I can't even try to play around or experiment with getting it to work because I get nothing in the first place
If someone knows some way that I'm not aware of to get this to actually work over here I'd appreciate the assistance....thanks

r u sure that there aren't any options that u can recieve SMS to your phone from the i-net? If there are, u can make your email compatible with your phone and resend the mails to SMS.

Hi
I had problems with the General SMS alerts in the UK, purely due to the mobile phone package that I have opted for. (Basic pay as you go account).
What I did was to set up a webmail account with my telephone service provider, which I then used for the SMS notification.
My webmail account provides the facility to send a text to a mobile when an email arrives, at a cost of 10 pence each call.
So, when attacked, Bulfleet sends an email to my webmail account which, in turn, sends a text to my mobile telling me that a mail has arrived.
Obviously, I get no detail of the attack and I use the webmail account solely for Bulfleet.
It works for me. I have tested it and I received a text alert on my mobile within a minute of the attack being sent.
To clarify - DO NOT try to find a method to forward your mail to your mobile phone.
Just try to find a way to send a text alert to your mobile phone when you receive ANY email sent to a webmail account that you use exclusively for Bulfleet!!
This is a low-tech solution to a high-tech problem. You don't need a high tech mobile phone. You don't need expensive mobile phone packages. You don't need web access from your mobile. And it is also the cheapest workaround that I could find!!
Hope this helps!!!
Good luck!!!
