What should I do first?

The first suggestion would be to log in at bulfleet.com and look in the upper right hand corner under FAQ. Take a look at the basics (i.e.- ships, factories, planets, etc.). Write down terms you don't understand, and continue your investigation in the FAQ's and in the bulfleet Forums.
From there you can determine how you want to play the game. Good luck and have fun.
