Which is better? Ship upgrade or Ship building?

No,no ... You don't need to have up to level 3 Factory, so you could upgrade your guardians ! At least as far as I know ... , isn't there an option to upgrade your Guardians up to level 3 without saying "More advanced technology needed" ? ...

Well, for a newby I think you are really into the game ... You know many things ! Some guys don't know what is fleetsave after 3 months of playing and you know Ninja too CoOl ... I think you are getting it good ! Of course you'll need some more time to perfect your self a little bit but that's just a matter of time

I think I know what you are thinking.

You think that you research a ship upgrade - like guardian to level 3 in the factory, and that then you mustbring the guardians back to a planet and pay to have them become from level 1 to level 3.

No, they are automaticly upgraded to level 3 when you have researched the upgrade. No need to pay extra or bring them to a shipyard or anything.

As to which is better, well that is just maths. Once you have a certain number of guardians, it is cheaper to upgrade one level than to buy more guardians. But the next upgrade costs more, so it becomes cheaper to buy more guardians again etc etc.
