what can you do with asteroids?

i was wondering what can you do with asteroids? i know you can send a tanker to them and take the gas from them but you have to be confederation to get a tanker?

does anyone know what to do with asteroids?

True but not at all

You can take the gas from the asteroids not only with tankers so it isn't obligatuary to be Confedarate,you can take the gas from asteroids with recyclers,too.
Anyway if you are Confederate or not,you can take the gas with recyclers.

... And the mission of the fleet (Recyclers or Tankers) must be Astroploatation ... Any other type of mission won't collect the profit from an asteroid !
