i was looking at the stats page and noticed that there are 45 pages of players. after the 10 page the highest point count is 2. can anybody suggest a reason for this? this artificially boost the games player count. do you think that these are accounts that have been abandon for what ever the reason?

Yup, you're right. There can be many reasons. Most of them were actually active accounts from the previous round.

and players who create an account , just checked out the cordinates and
decide to choose new by creating new account...
