Does your mobile provider support email2SMS? If so, then ask them what is your email, in order to receive SMS...
If you can't use this feature of mobile providers, you can write ordinary email to receive alerts there, and set your mail client to check every minute and to alert with sound upon receiving such mail.

I am not sure from which mobile proviers you can send SMS for vacation mode - send your mobile provider name and country to support.bulfleet.com for check.
