The Pirat-attack Idea is overpowered

I think robbing someone with a pirat fleet just like that ruins the balance in the game and leaves defenders defenceless.
At least make it on some chance - something like 2% chance of unsuccesfull pirat attack. In 2% chance the pirats get discovered and the defences nail them like on a normal (not pirat) attack. Otherways its not realistic enough.
That moment annoys me - my planet is entrenched with cannons to the point there is no place for a fly to land - and some punk-ass pirat fly and my defences ignore the field fighters. The guy lands - takes what ever he wants and leaves. I wont be surprised if he decides to take my defence cannons with him. STUPID!
Or here is another idea - if the pirat has less points than the defender, the chance for a succesfull pirat attack decreaces. It varries from 2% to 5% of the pirat attack being intercepted by the attacked (no matter if he is a defender or a fleed builder with a lot of ships)
Or even a better idea - make some defence systems stop pirat attacks - for example - the Ion Cannon detects pirats, or the plasma or whatever.
Or just limit the pirat attacks on one planet to 1 attack a day.
Or another idea - if the defenders has 15% of the pirat-attacker's filed fighters (30/200 for expample), the defender's fighters "tell" the other non-field-fighter forces about the pirat and they defend themselves adequatly

So why not leave your defence there and fleet save your resources.. at least you not make yourself more of a target. high resource and high defence not a good idea to be leaving about. imagine someone twice your points. he would be able to smash you to pieces. i personally think defence is a waste of time unless your building 100s of plasma guns.

yesterday come guy attacked me with 40 battle ships and couldn't even take down one shield
TAKE THIS DAMAGE ATTACKER!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOM 10 000 000 attack
but the damn pirates always get me, coz their attacks are 100% uncatchable, thats why I think 2% chance of failiure is pretty damn good idea

Darkshape, i am inclined to agree!
If people were to look at stories of Pirates on the open seas and so forth (because they do practically the same thing, steal under cover) there were still a lot of battles! I think a 25% chance of being discovered would make it much more interesting, as the attacker with the pirate mission would also need to back up his Field Fighters with another fleet, which could prove to make some very interesting battle outcomes!

I think a 25% chance of being discovered would make it much more interesting, as the attacker with the pirate mission would also need to back up his Field Fighters with another fleet, which could prove to make some very interesting battle outcomes!

I could build field fighters but I cant reach his nubmer in one order, after all he has been building those the whole game, and I cant build them oone by one (are 10 by 10) coz I have no place to saven, coz i have no espionage (coz I play defence)
p.s. I never said I have SOO MUCH resourses - I said the pirates rob me each day - its not the same thing as you see

sorry, don´t understand that. Everyone can save his ressources by putting them into Cargo Ships and send them away before fights, recall them after fight is over. That doesn´t have to do anything with you playing defence or having espionage. 75% of your ressources stay no matter how many pirates come. Howevery, if he sends multiple fleets hitting at different times, he will decrease your ressources a lot. So you have to keep you ressources in ships and send them around all time and only land them on the planet for building purpose.You can steal up to 1/4 of the resources present planetside
If the pirate comes to you and goes with only few ressources - he will go and search another target.
The more interesting question is: How to fight an active pirate if he has way more score than you?
You never will be able to stop his attacks by having more field fighters then he has, and your Defence does not affect them. And if you go for him with your allies, he most propable saves his fleet.
So only way would be to get defence of only field fighters? does this work?

1 Pirate takes maximum 250 ressources.
to build 1 pirate you need 6000 metall and 4000 crystal = 10.000 ressources in total
Or with other words - you need 40 pirate attacks to get back your investment in this ship.
I am at the moment 115 points strong (call me imba) and I go for Cargo Ships. 4 Ships cost me 16.000 ressources. I have 2 fleets and with 5 attacks I had my investment back and now I make plus. Pirating makes for me only sence if you have a lot of them and do it all day long since you do not have to care about defence....or say - you don´t have to care so much.

Defence in the game isn't inventioned to be immortal.This is STRATEGY game, and you must make tactics to play.You think you are immortal with your plasma guns, and guys with 50 battlecr. crashed in you.But one clever guy, makes you crazy qwith his fighters, and when you can't play - everyone is guilty ha ha ha.
