Each time I send a Spy Probe to a target, it comes with a failure percentage. What does this refer to, esp. since most of the time it is 0 but sometimes it has another number? What failed?
Also, if a spy report does not indicate any ships nor turrents after reaching or passing Esp. level 8, does this mean there are none (fleet or turrents) or just that the probe couldn't see them?
If anyone's probe can't see some of the fleet and defenses, what additional research is needed if not Espionage? How does this work?
Sometimes players spy my planets and the report says I detected and destroyed their probe? How did I do this, and what can I do to make it happen more often?
Sometimes players send 5-10 probes to my planets one after the other, so is there some benefit to this?
If I send more than one probe in a fleet, does this have any potential of getting me more information on the reports?
Is there a way to make the reports defective or inaccurate, particularly when players spy me?
Thanks.

Heya PrinceCD,
The Espionage thing works simply enough.
The only rule that counts with the Esp. is the difference between ur and ur enemy Espionage level technology. If ur Esp. levels are equal, then the chance of getting complete report and finding what ships/defense he has is about 50% I think(I'm sorry I don't remember the exact number
). When the difference is one level for you, than the chance is about 70%, with +2 lvls become 80-90% and if it is +3lvls u have 100% chance of getting full report.
The numbers for exmpl: 15% at the bottom of the report shows the chance of destroying your Spy Probe, but this is useless except to determine the probable Esp. lvl of ur enemy. For example if this is arround 10% that it is most probable that he is with lower than ur Esp. If it is about 20-30% most probable to have equal Esp. and if it is higher.... it's great luck that some of ur probes are alive
I hope it is more clear now, but if u have any other questions... here is the place to ask them
Cheers

Howdy and thanks for providing some input into this topic. Yes I have a few more questions.
If I understood your comments, are you saying that the Probes will only be successful in an espionage attempt if the Esp. level is equal or higher than the targetted player?
Then is there any advantage to sending multiple probes even if your Esp. level is equal or lower than the targetted player? Could one or more "slip in" and get a good report? In other words, in your reference to this you called it "great luck" when my Probe has a lower Esp. levels, but in such circumstances, can the Probe get a good report?
Does the Laser research have any effect on the spy reports?
Thanks again for any additional understanding.

And the the Laser research doesn't have any effect on the spy reports - only the esp. research. Just like a long time ago in the small laser turret info was written that it helps destroying enemy probes...
Cheers
