Now is it done like this

1:1 1:2 1:3 1:4 1:5 1:6 1:7 1:8 1:9 1:10 1:11 1:12

to get from 1:1 i would travel down the line to 1:10 thus going though 11 "sectors"

or is it done like this

1:1 1:2 1:3
1:4 1:5 1:6
1:7 1:8 1:9
1:10 1:11 1:12

to get to "sector" 1:12 i would go though 1:5 1:9 and ending up at 1:12

now if like this and i SOOOOOO wish it does coz this really does allow for tactics on a Grand Scheme

plz b4 any flames think of that little table up to 478 it would be a big box i only did a few numbers to save time im sure any one with a brain would work out what i mean

It is a bit more complex:

Let`s presume you are at 2:100:X

1:1:1 -> 1:500:15 - 200 systems equivalent

2:1:X->2:500:X - the number of systems to fly through is linear.

3:1:X -> 3:500:X - 200 systems

4:1:X -> 5:500:X - 400 systems

So here is the paradox - it takes you the same time to fly from 2:100 to 2:500 as from 2:100 t 5:500.

I see quite complex! like the problem though

could it be designed so it could be grid like non liner ? do you think?
