Ok so you have 5 planets all with Level 10 Science facility's at present all this gives you is the ability to do spread which planet takes the cost of research
but this leaves 4 other facilitys just doing nothing, a waste of fields and resources, you could make one planet as just a "Research Outpost" so to say, but why not make things a bit more interesting by adding a "Network" Tech tree were Science facility's in the same solar system can "Network" and collaborate with each other decreasing research times a fraction as you expand on this Tech Tree it could get a bit faster of coarse making sure things stay balanced

secondly only if you want to upgrade research on other planets, then you build science factory on them

Ok so there would not be much point of building Science Faciltys on other planets unless you wanted to make sure a attack wouldnt knock our your reasarch capabiltys
This "Science Network" Idea would give the abbilty to players of building more science faciltys on other planets and would beinfit them thus givein more options when planing your planets
