What do asteroids do? If they give resources, how do you get them?

I looked in a topic on this board, and it said only universes 1 and 2 lasted 6 months. How long does 3 last?

Is Bulfleet open ended? Me and a friend just started, and i was wondering. Does the game ever end? I thought it didn't but saw the immunity thing was 5 per round. How long is a round, is there a universe with a game that never ends?
