I have this as well. It appears to be because of the following Javascript error:

The bug is that if you have all your planets in one galaxy, it does not default to that galaxy. It is defaulting the system range it uses based on the location of your planet within the galaxy, so it's senseless that it doesn't also default the galaxy.

It would be nice if the input focus were automatically moved into the input box in the botcheck, rather than requiring the user to click into the box.

There is Javascript form autofocus code at the link given that could be used to easily do this.

1) Displaying the amount with interest applied in addition to the original amount

The advanced search automatically populates with good values, points range appropriate to mine, system number within a reasonable distance of mine -- except for galaxy. The galaxy always defaults to 1, even though I'm in galaxy 4.

I don't really see it. It's set up so that there's an attack method and there's a countermeasure for it, and the complaint is basically "I don't feel like using the countermeasure because the way I feel like playing should be enough".

I get the display error too. It's likely to confuse people who aren't the sort to just start mashing the buttons.
